My Chocolate-Vanilla Cupcakes
Chocolate cakes topped with swirled vanilla buttercream, sanding sugar, and sugar pearls.
(I’ve posted cupcakes similar to these on my blog before, but don’t be fooled. These are made with completely different recipes. Chef John’s (of foodwishes.com) recipe for chocolate bundt cake translates very well into cupcake form. It is now my go-to chocolate cake recipe. And the vanilla frosting recipe that I use now… oh god. It’s so good. Check it out at leelabeanbakes.com. Just look for her “Even Better Cooked Flour Frosting” and you’ll have found the recipe for the best frosting I’ve ever had.)

My Red Velvet Cupcakes
Classic red velvet cupcakes topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting, cake crumbs, sugar pearls, and hand-made fondant roses.
(I’m proud of the cupcakes and all… especially the roses, but holy crap! The packaging makes these cupcakes look their best! A big thank you to my boyfriend’s sister’s boyfriend for these! He gave me these clear boxes and stickers with my logo as part of a gift exchange and I’m in love with them! Thanks, William!)

My Butterfly Cupcakes

Lemon cake filled with lemon curd, frosted with lemon-flavored cream cheese frosting and topped with chocolate butterflies and modeling chocolate flowers.

(These so simple to make and look gorgeous. When I first showed these off, people kept asking me, “Are those butterflies edible?!” The answer is yes. If you’d like to know how I made them, check out Ann Reardon’s blog at howtocookthat.net and she’ll have a video with step-by-step instructions. It takes a bit of practice, but the results are worth it. Try them!)
